Conservation Area
We have made it our goal to maintain biodiversity in our concession through meticulous flora and fauna protection efforts and campaigns to raise awareness among the local community.
PT. BIA has taken the necessary steps to maintain biodiversity and promote conservation efforts in our concession. In accordance with the High Conservation Value (HCV) Guidance Toolkit, we ensure to identify HCV areas before every land development and conduct HCV Assessment in partnership with accredited third-party assessors. Based on the assessment, this HCV area is regularly managed pursuant to our NDPE Policy and Conservation Commitment. We have also made it our goal to raise awareness among the employees and local communities on the importance of biodiversity preservation. In total, we have identified 6,718 ha of HCV area in our concession.
Flora and Fauna Protection
Our HCV area houses unique rare, threatened, and endangered (RTE) species. Our Conservation Team monitors these species through regular patrols in our concession using trap cameras and other tools. These species are well documented for continuous monitoring. PT. BIA strictly prohibits the hunting of these endemic fauna and the illegal exploitation of the local plant life.
